about

Cowboys and Frenchmen make their recording debut with their 2015 release “Rodeo” on Outside in Music. Inspired by the world in which we live, this vivacious youthful ensemble strives to reflect the breadth of twenty first century music through their six original compositions and share their unique musical voice on two arrangements.

Cowboys and Frenchmen present a novel take on the musical canon by blending traditional American folk and pop music with elements of contemporary R&B and modern jazz. The music implores surprises at every turn, and presents a musical journey through the lens of five 21st century improvisers.

The music represents the composer’s individual experiences from around the world; from the rolling countryside of Germany (King Barry), American Cinema (Man of Constant Sorrow), Buddhist practice (Bells of Mindfulness), to the cultural vibrancy of New York City (Jazz Styles) and the beauty found in mystery (Because).
Currently based in New York, NY, Cowboys and Frenchmen is comprised of some of the brightest rising stars on the New York Jazz scene, and can be found touring the world and playing frequently at clubs around New York.
